The strata in the landslide area are mainly Wotong Formation (D3w). The lower section (D3w1) is 102m thick, and the lithology is light red and gray-white thick medium-thick interbedded gravelly sandstone, interbedded with thin quartz sandstone and argillaceous siltstone, with relatively complete rocks. The lithology of the upper section (D3w2) is mainly gray black shale (former Gaolishan Formation), medium-thin quartz sandstone interbedded with multi-layer thin-layered siltstone, silty shale and argillate interbeds. The joints and fissures are developed, the rocks are broken, the argillate interbeds are easy to be argillated when exposed to water, and the top is thin-layered sandy shale.
